A visit to a remote beach is a special treat. The scenery is spectacular. Once ashore, we will guide you along the coastline and the rain forest that reaches to the water's edge. Seals and bald eagles are almost always seen on these tours. Whales and porpoises are also often sighted.

When the tide is low you will see an amazing variety of sea life: mollusks, crabs, eels, starfish, sea anemones, sea cucumbers, sea urchins and others. A keen eye will spot mink and otter which feast on this abundance. At higher tides our underwater camera will be deployed to display these creatures live on our widescreen video display.

Be sure to bring your camera to capture images of the beautiful scenery, unique plants and wildlife which inhabit these wild beaches.

When departing from downtown Ketchikan these tours include a great harbor tour and typically take 3 1/2 hours, including 1 1/2 hours of beach time. By chartering the West Rock you may add time for beachcombing, a picnic or other sightseeing.

On these tours we provide a long raincoat, binoculars, bottled water and a snack. Be sure to dress in layers and wear sturdy footwear. Tour participants must be able to walk up to 1/2 mile over uneven terrain.

Princess Cruises passengers may book this tour through its Adventures Ashore Program and on the Princess website as Tour "KTN-023".
